About the Role
You will own platform services from design through implementation, rollout, monitoring, and documentation. You will set technical direction for architecture, data models, APIs, security, and privacy decisions. You will build backend services and web experiences, improve platform observability, deliver partner APIs and a developer portal, use AI agents for recurring work, review code and designs, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production software with ownership of backend services after launch
- Experience with Go or a comparable backend language
- Working knowledge of TypeScript and React
- Strong API and data-modeling judgment, including live schema changes and migrations
- Experience building and operating scalable cloud-based applications
- Ability to debug across service boundaries using logs, metrics, traces, and source code
- Fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor
- Ability to critically validate AI-generated output
- Experience taking a product from zero to one and scaling it
- Clear written and verbal communication
Responsibilities
- Own services end to end, including design, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and documentation
- Set technical direction for architecture, data models, APIs, security, and privacy tradeoffs
- Take ambiguous problems from brief to shipped system and prioritize what to build
- Build and harden backend services and front-end experiences
- Build verification metrics, dashboards, and alerts
- Ship the developer portal and partner-facing APIs
- Use and improve AI agents for debugging, migrations, and maintenance
- Review designs and code, including AI-generated code
- Mentor and unblock engineers through code review and documentation
