About the Role
You will provide technical leadership for Block, File, Parallel, and Object storage services. You will shape architecture, guide engineering decisions, identify technical risks, and improve reliability, observability, performance, and operational maturity. You will partner with platform, infrastructure, and product engineers, lead investigations and design work, contribute to incident resolution, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Experience in a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Lead Architect, or similar senior technical role
- Expertise in Block, File, Parallel, and Object storage architectures
- Experience designing and operating large-scale production storage or infrastructure services
- Understanding of distributed systems performance, availability, consistency, fault tolerance, and scalability
- Experience with platform-level services
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards
- Communication skills for explaining technical concepts and influencing stakeholders
- Experience in AI, HPC, data-intensive, or performance-sensitive environments is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across Block, File, Parallel, and Object storage services
- Lead the design of scalable, resilient, high-performance storage solutions
- Guide engineering decisions, review designs, and uphold technical quality
- Translate storage strategy into technical plans and implementation approaches
- Identify technical risks, scalability constraints, and operational weaknesses
- Partner with platform, infrastructure, and product teams on service integration
- Lead technical investigations, proof of concepts, and design work
- Improve service reliability, observability, performance, and supportability
- Contribute to incident resolution and root cause analysis
- Mentor engineers and set engineering standards
