About the Role
You will own the architecture, security, performance, availability, and cost of global GPU, data center, backbone, and internet-edge networks. You will set roadmaps and internet strategy, ensure network readiness for data center builds, lead operations and incident response, drive automation, manage budgets, and lead network and software engineering leaders.
Requirements
- 8+ years designing and operating highly available large-scale cloud or enterprise networks
- 2+ years managing managers
- Expertise in BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, Clos and spine-leaf fabrics, software-defined networking, traffic engineering, zero-trust security, network automation, and AWS or OCI
- Experience operating high-performance internet, backbone, RoCEv2, or InfiniBand fabrics
- Experience scaling engineering organizations delivering mission-critical cloud connectivity
- Experience owning network capital and operating budgets and managing vendors
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Own global network architecture, security, performance, and availability
- Build multi-year roadmaps for network architecture, data center fabrics, and cloud connectivity
- Set peering, transit, internet-exchange, and backbone traffic-engineering strategy
- Ensure network readiness, site turn-up, and validation for AI data center builds
- Own network operating and capital budgets
- Lead 24/7 network operations, incident response, and postmortems
- Establish telemetry and monitoring architecture
- Drive Infrastructure-as-Code, declarative configuration management, and automated testing
- Set goals for network security posture, health, and traffic engineering
- Embed segmentation, zero-trust edge patterns, and SASE frameworks
- Lead, hire, develop, and retain network and software engineering teams
- Represent technical direction to senior leadership, customers, and partners
