About the Role
You will lead global tax planning, international tax, transfer pricing, M&A and investment tax activities, U.S. federal and state income tax planning, and tax controversy matters. You will shape legal-entity, financing, intellectual-property, and operating structures while advising senior leaders and cross-functional partners on complex tax decisions.
Requirements
- 15+ years of multinational corporate income tax experience
- In-house tax experience at a publicly traded multinational
- Deep U.S. international tax expertise
- Deep U.S. federal corporate tax knowledge
- Experience developing tax-planning strategies and leading domestic and cross-border transactions
- Experience managing U.S. and foreign income tax audits and disputes
- Strong research modeling and technical-writing skills
- Executive presence and experience building high-performing teams
- Big Four accounting firm experience preferred
- MS in Taxation JD or LLM in Taxation CPA or comparable credentials preferred
- Experience in technology payments fintech digital assets or another regulated industry preferred
- Experience with treasury initiatives preferred
- Experience applying tax technology analytics and AI preferred
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global tax planning strategies
- Lead international tax planning for cross-border structures transactions and financing
- Own U.S. federal and state income tax planning
- Analyze tax considerations for product launches and market expansion
- Monitor tax law regulatory and policy developments
- Lead tax aspects of acquisitions dispositions investments joint ventures and reorganizations
- Negotiate tax provisions in transaction documents
- Own direct tax controversy strategy and tax examinations
- Represent Block in interactions with tax authorities
- Partner with tax legal finance product and business teams
