About the Role
You will build and deploy machine learning models that prevent fraud across fintech use cases, from rapid proof of concept through production. You will analyze complex data, define and monitor performance metrics, create automated dashboards, and translate findings into practical recommendations for clients and stakeholders. You will collaborate with engineering to scale and optimize models, improve data instrumentation, and support risk-mitigation strategies that preserve user experience.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data science, quantitative modeling, or a data-focused role with demonstrated impact in fraud or risk contexts
- Hands-on experience with Python or R and SQL
- Experience with Spark is preferred
- Expertise with Tableau, Sigma, or Metabase
- Ability to structure and analyze complex data using exploratory data analysis and cohort analysis
- Ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including clients
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to define, track, and communicate performance metrics
Responsibilities
- Champion a data-first approach across internal teams and client engagements
- Build and deploy machine learning models to prevent fraud from proof of concept through production
- Develop and track metrics for risk-product performance and risk-management effectiveness
- Conduct in-depth analyses that support fraud reduction and higher approval rates
- Work directly with clients to understand fraud challenges and provide actionable recommendations
- Use data and models to develop risk-mitigation strategies and interventions
- Create and automate self-serve dashboards using BI tools
- Collaborate with engineering to scale models, optimize performance, and support data instrumentation
- Partner with business, product, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into data-driven solutions
