Tools for Humanity is a technology company founded in 2019 and headquartered in San Francisco and Munich. It builds and operates services including World ID App and World App, which provide interfaces for creating and using World ID, accessing Mini Apps, and managing digital assets through a self-custodial wallet. It also develops the Orb and Orb Mini proof-of-human hardware and software, using encrypted iris-imaging processes and open-source components, and leads design and planning for World Spaces.

About the Role
You will lead legal work required to expand operations into Brazilian jurisdictions. You will assess regulatory, licensing, privacy, labor, commercial, and consumer protection risks; coordinate and manage local counsel; advise product and operations teams on jurisdiction-specific requirements; and help produce accurate materials for authorities and stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of post-law school experience
- BigLaw and/or fast-paced startup experience
- Qualified lawyer in good standing with eligibility to practice in Brazil
- Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional legal challenges
- Experience developing legal support for international growth and licensing efforts
- Proven track record launching operations or products internationally
- Ability to travel regularly is preferred
- Fluency in English
- Demonstrated interest in blockchain, Web3, cryptocurrency, and digital assets
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead legal strategy for jurisdictional entry decisions
- Assess regulatory, licensing, data protection, labor, commercial, and consumer protection requirements
- Manage and coordinate local counsel to obtain clear, actionable input
- Advise product, economics, logistics, and operations on jurisdiction-specific legal issues
- Ensure necessary local licenses, permits, and registrations are obtained before entry
- Monitor changes in local law and ensure ongoing compliance
- Draft and review communications and materials for authorities and stakeholders
- Contribute proactively to Legal team planning and consistency of advice
