About the Role
You will create and optimize CAM programs for multi-axis milling and mill-turn operations. You will design fixtures and tooling, set up and operate CNC machines, validate simulations and probe routines, troubleshoot manufacturing processes, and support the transition to an automation-capable production facility.
Requirements
- High school diploma with 5 years of CNC machining and programming experience, an associate degree with 3 years of experience, or 8 years of hands-on CNC experience.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks CAM, including 5-axis milling, mill-turn operations, machine-model building, and custom control files.
- Experience machining Inconel, titanium, and stainless steel to tight tolerances.
- Experience programming, setting up, and operating live-tooling Y-axis multi-axis turning centers.
- Eligibility to pass an FBI/DoD background check and obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain applicable explosives licenses.
- U.S. Person status under ITAR/EAR.
Responsibilities
- Create SolidWorks CAM programs for 5-axis mill and mill-turn operations.
- Design fixtures, work holding, and production tooling.
- Program, set up, and operate live-tooling Y-axis lathes.
- Execute and optimize 5-axis machining strategies.
- Develop manufacturing processes from drawings to finished parts.
- Build machine models, custom control files, and multi-axis setup simulations.
- Support the transition to an automation-capable production facility.
