About the Role

You will own the day-to-day execution of onboarding, benefits administration, and data integrity as the in-house expert for all health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs. You will administer U.S. health and welfare and retirement programs, manage carrier EDI file feeds and payroll integrations, and coordinate absence and leave administration. You will ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state regulations, manage government filings such as Form 5500 and ACA 1094-C/1095-C, and lead the annual open enrollment cycle end to end. You will manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators, support the annual renewal process, generate reports from HRIS and vendor systems, and continuously improve SOPs and benefits processes.

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of progressive benefits administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with health and welfare plan administration, retirement programs, and leave management
  • Proficiency with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems such as ADP, Workday, or Dayforce
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state leave regulations
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis, audit reconciliation, and reporting
  • Exceptional attention to detail and discretion with sensitive personal and financial data
  • Preferred: experience in a family office, private wealth, or similarly lean environment
  • Preferred: benefits platform implementation or open enrollment system configuration experience
  • Preferred: exposure to global or multi-jurisdiction benefits programs
  • Preferred: CEBS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP designation

Responsibilities

  • Administer all U.S. health and welfare and retirement programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and 401(k)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee benefits inquiries
  • Manage carrier EDI file feeds and payroll integrations and resolve interface discrepancies
  • Perform routine audits of eligibility files, payroll deductions, and vendor databases
  • Coordinate absence and leave administration for FMLA, ADA, STD, and LTD transactions
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and applicable state regulations
  • Manage government filings and compliance reporting including Form 5500, ACA 1094-C/1095-C, and PCORI
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement required updates
  • Lead the annual open enrollment cycle including system configuration, communications, and post-enrollment auditing
  • Develop enrollment materials and decision-support resources
  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators
  • Support the annual renewal process with plan performance analysis and benchmarking
  • Generate standard and ad hoc reports from HRIS and vendor systems
  • Maintain and improve SOPs and process documentation
  • Recommend enhancements to benefits processes and the employee experience
