About the Role
You will own the core domain APIs and data models that power a consumer-facing product. You will build real-time services and streaming systems, deliver personalization, search, and live data features, unify fragmented services, and balance technical-debt reduction with product delivery.
Requirements
- Backend or product engineering experience designing domain APIs and data models for a consumer-facing product at scale
- Hands-on experience with gRPC or Connect, real-time streaming, and event or notification infrastructure
- Experience partnering with frontend, mobile, and product teams to ship end-user features
- Experience unifying fragmented services and APIs into reusable primitives
- Experience deploying systems in AWS or GCP and using containers
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve core domain APIs and data models
- Develop gRPC or Connect services and real-time streaming systems
- Build event and notification infrastructure
- Partner with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver end-user features
- Consolidate fragmented services and APIs into reusable primitives
- Balance technical-debt cleanup with new product delivery
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and data engineers
