About the Role
You will own critical paths in the CLOB engine, profile matching and orderbook hot paths, improve latency and throughput, reduce lock contention, design safer queueing and backpressure, and build observability and rollback guarantees. You will reason about settlement risk across on-chain and off-chain state, optimize Go runtime performance, and lead production incident resolution involving latency, correctness, and settlement state.
Requirements
- Senior-level backend or systems engineering experience
- Production ownership of an exchange system or high-throughput trading backend with on-chain settlement
- Experience with matching engines, order routing, or market data infrastructure
- Deep Go expertise, including garbage collection tuning, hot path optimization, and runtime internals
- Strong concurrency skills involving lock contention, race conditions, asynchronous correctness, and backpressure
- Production profiling experience with pprof, flamegraphs, and metrics
- EVM or blockchain transaction lifecycle experience, including confirmations, reorgs, and on-chain state
- Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and systems thinking
- Rust experience
- Redis, PostgreSQL, gRPC, and Protobuf experience
- Kubernetes and AWS production operations experience
Responsibilities
- Own the CLOB engine's critical path
- Profile matching and orderbook hot paths
- Improve latency, throughput, and asynchronous engine flow
- Reduce lock contention while preserving correctness
- Design safer queueing and backpressure for orderbooks
- Instrument systems with pprof, metrics, logs, and traces
- Establish rollback guarantees and narrower critical paths
- Design systems to handle settlement edge cases correctly
- Reduce garbage collection pressure and optimize CPU and memory allocation
- Debug and resolve production incidents involving latency, correctness, and settlement state
