About the Role
Design and build backend systems powering blockchain infrastructure and staking products across Galaxy, including Ethereum systems, staking infrastructure, blockchain data systems, APIs, indexers, and observability. Own system design end to end while helping define engineering standards, adopt AI-assisted workflows, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience building backend systems in Golang.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and blockchain systems, preferably Ethereum.
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps.
- Strong testing practices for complex and stateful systems.
- Experience working in remote, asynchronous teams.
- High agency, low ego, and end-to-end ownership.
- Hands-on experience with Ethereum nodes, validator infrastructure, or staking infrastructure.
- Understanding of proof-of-stake mechanisms.
- Experience with blockchain indexers, data pipelines, dApps, or Solidity smart contracts.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development, spec-driven development, MCP, or agent-based paradigms.
- Open-source contributions.
- Experience with Rust.
Responsibilities
- Design and build APIs, services, Ethereum data pipelines, indexers, staking and validator infrastructure integrations, monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Own system design end to end, including architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and observability.
- Work across Ethereum execution and consensus layers and contribute to Liquid Collective and other staking infrastructure projects.
- Define engineering standards for API design, distributed-system testing, reliability, fault tolerance, security, and key management.
- Translate product and protocol requirements into technical specifications in a spec-first development environment.
- Leverage AI-assisted development workflows, MCP, and agent-based tooling.
- Collaborate with protocol, product, and infrastructure teams.
- Mentor engineers through code review and design feedback.
- Improve engineering practices, team performance, and software quality.
