About the Role

You'll join Carta's Tax team as a US Federal tax preparer and reviewer, using Carta's proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for clients. Your clients are venture capitalists, fund managers and dealmakers, and you'll collaborate with accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on relevant tax issues while productizing tax workflows and scaling post-deal processes for investment structures.

Requirements

  • Must have US Federal tax experience for the preparation and filing of tax returns and IRS e-filings, focusing on partnership tax returns
  • Fully qualified CPA or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
  • Understanding of US tax filings relating to investment vehicles
  • High attention to detail and ability to navigate complex tax structures and documentation
  • Organized and calm under pressure
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about venture capital
  • Experience leveraging technologies to automate processes and gain efficiencies
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills to meet multiple deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file US Federal partnership tax returns and IRS e-filings
  • Leverage Carta's proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for clients
  • Collaborate with accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on tax issues
  • Help productize tax workflows to deliver fast and accurate tax solutions
  • Interact with clients on administering their investment structures
  • Work on wider team projects that are not directly tax-related
