About the Role
You independently review SME applications processed by Makers and verify data documentation and credit assessments. You conduct compliance and quality checks review supporting documents meet turnaround targets escalate complex cases maintain reports mentor Makers and identify improvements that strengthen efficiency and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of experience in SME credit analysis credit underwriting credit operations or SME lending
- Experience reviewing credit proposals financial analysis and SME credit assessments
- Exposure to maker-checker processes quality assurance or credit approval controls is preferred
- Experience in KYC AML regulatory compliance and credit documentation review
- Experience mentoring coaching or training junior team members is advantageous
- Strong understanding of SME lending products and credit underwriting principles
- Strong knowledge of credit policies lending guidelines and approval frameworks
- Understanding of RBI regulations KYC AML and regulatory compliance
- Master’s degree in finance accounting or a related field
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment principles and methodologies
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with SME lending platforms or systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
Responsibilities
- Mentor train and provide feedback to Makers
- Meet turnaround time targets from appraisal to approval
- Review SME applications for complete and accurate data
- Verify credit assessments against policies and risk requirements
- Conduct compliance checks and flag potential breaches
- Identify and report processing discrepancies and errors
- Review supporting documentation for completeness and authenticity
- Escalate complex or unusual cases
- Maintain records and provide quality reports
- Ensure adherence to credit policies procedures and regulations
- Identify process improvements for efficiency and risk mitigation
