About the Role
Serve as the technical interface between estimating, customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams by defining electrical scopes, translating requirements into specifications, preparing estimates and proposals, creating preliminary designs and bills of materials, reviewing vendor packages, sizing components, and coordinating proposal-to-design handoffs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment
- At least 1 year of experience in applications, project estimating, or technical sales
- Understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems, control panels, and associated equipment
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and relevant industry standards
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-management skills
- Participation in a required drug and alcohol program due to safety-sensitive work
- Experience with modular building construction, industrial controls, or automation systems is a plus
- Familiarity with UL standards is a plus
- Experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing, and technical documentation is a plus
Responsibilities
- Define electrical scopes of work with customers and estimators
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications
- Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals
- Create one-line diagrams and preliminary control schematics
- Prepare bills of materials
- Review vendor bid packages and submittals
- Specify and size electrical components according to codes and project guidelines
- Coordinate proposal and submittal handoffs with project and design engineering teams
