About the Role
You will investigate severe-harms cases involving sextortion and CSAM monetization from referral through actionable outcomes. You will combine OSINT link analysis and direct engagement with subjects and sources to identify actors trace financial activity map networks and produce defensible target packages and legal-process returns. You will use AI thoughtfully support partners across legal and engineering functions follow trauma-informed evidence-handling protocols and manage your well-being when working with difficult material.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant investigative or casework experience
- Experience in illicit finance financial crime cybercrime trust and safety all-source intelligence OSINT direct human-source engagement or a comparable law-enforcement or intelligence-adjacent background
- Hands-on open-web social or forum collection capability or direct experience engaging subjects and sources
- Experience co-running investigations or completing clean handoffs
- Experience delivering answers under RFI-style time pressure
- Interest in and exposure to child exploitation sextortion or adjacent investigative work including counterterrorism or serious organised crime
- Current practical use of AI and understanding of its appropriate limitations
- Working knowledge of subpoenas warrants and preservation requests or willingness to learn
- Strong written communication skills
- Sound judgment when handling emotionally demanding material
- Residence in the United States or United Kingdom
- Willingness to travel occasionally and attend periodic Washington DC working sessions
- Availability for US Eastern or Central time-zone overlap
- Successful completion of an enhanced background check
Responsibilities
- Run target packages from referral through disruption
- Combine OSINT link analysis and direct engagement to identify and attribute actors
- Produce defensible attribution write-ups and legal-process returns
- Map operational networks and relationships
- Apply AI to accelerate and improve casework
- Work with legal engineering and external partners on leads and referrals
- Follow victim-centered and trauma-informed investigative practices
- Follow protocols for evidence handling escalation and mandatory reporting
- Manage content exposure and psychological well-being
- Ask for support when needed
