About the Role

You will lead certification strategy, documentation, and compliance for complex aerospace technical areas. You will work with regulatory authorities, manage certification risks and schedules, support civil and military certification activities, and oversee audits, inspections, authorization prerequisites, and designee resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 6-9 years of aerospace certification experience
  • Experience interfacing with airworthiness or certification authorities
  • Hands-on experience taking military or civil certification programs from certification basis development through closure
  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 21, 23, and 25 and applicable advisory circulars
  • Ability to interface with military airworthiness authorities
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance or a clear path to one
  • Knowledge of military airworthiness standards
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Execute certification strategy and technical approaches for major programs or product lines
  • Lead certification documentation and compliance activities
  • Apply military and industry airworthiness standards
  • Author and manage Issue Papers, Certification Review Items, and Military Certification Review Items
  • Interface with regulatory representatives and airworthiness authorities
  • Drive certification schedules and mitigate compliance risks
  • Support civil certification programs
  • Manage regulatory audits, conformity inspections, and test witnessing
  • Manage Type Inspection Authorization prerequisites and approvals
  • Manage the designee program and internal designee registry
