About the Role
You will develop AI and machine-learning models for spacecraft autonomy, perception, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance. You will build perception, data, simulation, planning, and decision-making systems; deploy models to flight hardware; integrate them with flight software and ground tools; and prototype robotics and AI approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI/ML, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with machine-learning frameworks
- Understanding of statistics and mathematical foundations of machine learning
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Ability to work physically at the Ottawa facility
Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI and machine-learning models for spacecraft autonomy, perception, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance
- Develop computer-vision and sensor-fusion perception pipelines
- Build reinforcement-learning, planning, and decision-making algorithms for autonomous operations and robotic manipulation
- Build data pipelines for model training, evaluation, and deployment
- Create simulation environments for training and validating AI and robotic behaviors
- Deploy and optimize models on resource-constrained flight hardware
- Integrate AI and robotics systems with flight software and ground segment tools
- Research and prototype approaches to space robotics and AI challenges
