About the Role
You will lead computational chemistry or drug discovery programs toward clinical candidate selection. You will apply AI-first approaches, guide technical strategy, collaborate across ML, biology, and chemistry, support platform improvements, prepare scientific proposals and reports, oversee CRO collaborations where applicable, and potentially manage and mentor computational chemists.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Chemistry or a related scientific field, or equivalent industrial experience
- Five or eight or more years of computational drug design experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO settings
- Track record of computational chemistry project leadership
- Expertise writing Python scripts or using pipelining tools for cheminformatics and design workflows
- Experience leading and mentoring scientific teams for people or program management roles
- Record of scientific achievements through publications, patents, and presentations
- Strong written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills
Responsibilities
- Apply AI-first approaches to execute drug design programs
- Lead programs or computational chemistry efforts
- Collaborate across ML, Biology, and Chemistry to solve technical problems
- Establish AI and ML integration in computational chemistry workflows
- Provide technical direction to ML platform teams
- Oversee CRO collaborations and program go or no-go milestones when acting as Program Lead
- Prepare scientific proposals and reports
- Manage and mentor Computational Chemists where applicable
