About the Role

You will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of global regulatory risk standards. You will support international market expansion, develop compliance operating models and controls, run monitoring activities, advise on complex regulatory matters, and escalate material issues through governance.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of senior-level experience in compliance, regulatory risk, or risk management within financial services.
  • Expertise in EU financial regulations, including PSD2/3, GDPR, DORA, EBA Guidelines, and related frameworks.
  • Experience designing global regulatory standards, policies, governance, controls, monitoring methodologies, and management information.
  • Experience leading compliance-driven international expansion, including licence strategy, regulatory mapping, operating model design, and rollout.
  • Experience with regulatory submissions, licence applications, and reporting under Luxembourg and EU requirements.
  • Experience interacting with regulators and supporting inspections, audits, and thematic reviews.
  • Experience in oversight functions, monitoring key risk indicators, and providing compliance advisory for new initiatives, products, and services.
  • Background in banking, fintech, payments or e-money firms, or regulatory consultancy.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations, research requirements, and advise internal stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead compliance analysis and develop recommendations for international expansion, including market prioritisation, licence strategy, and regulatory feasibility.
  • Design regulatory operating models for new markets, including governance, controls, monitoring, and management information.
  • Coordinate the compliance workstream for market entry with external counsel and local advisors.
  • Deliver expansion projects from scoping through launch and handover into business-as-usual ownership.
  • Provide final compliance opinions and recommendations on expansion options to senior leadership.
  • Lead the design and evolution of global minimum standards for regulatory risk management.
  • Develop and maintain global compliance methodologies, policies, procedures, control taxonomy, and monitoring approaches.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into scalable, repeatable global processes.
  • Design global governance structures, escalation routes, and management information definitions.
  • Operate and maintain the global compliance monitoring plan, including thematic reviews and cross-market analysis.
  • Review and challenge business-as-usual management information to identify trends, regulatory risks, and control weaknesses.
  • Escalate issues, deviations, and weaknesses through governance where required.
  • Provide senior regulatory advice on complex or sensitive matters.
  • Support regional compliance teams with capability or capacity gaps, including temporary ownership of defined activities.
