About the Role

As a Quantitative Trading Intern at Virtu, you will work alongside senior traders on challenging projects involving market making and trading problems across desks such as Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Options, ETFs, and Energy. The program includes global training, ongoing summer training, senior mentorship, and social events.

Requirements

  • Rising junior or student expected to be ready for full-time employment between December 2027 and June 2028
  • Excellent academic background; hard sciences preferred, including physics, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, or statistics
  • Outstanding quantitative problem-solving skills and mathematical aptitude
  • Some programming experience required; Python, SQL, Java, or C++ are a plus
  • Ability to identify issues and create solutions without rigid direction
  • Highly motivated and tenacious, with the ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team
  • Team player capable of working toward collective goals

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior traders on challenging projects
  • Solve trading problems as they occur in the markets
  • Work on projects across Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Options, ETFs, and Energy trading desks
  • Participate in company-curated global training and ongoing summer training
  • Engage with senior mentors throughout the program
