About the Role
You will develop probabilistic risk models, run simulations, analyze failure modes, and produce results that inform engineering priorities. You will perform hazard and fault-tree analyses, create validation strategies, and improve safety processes and tools.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical field
- Deep understanding of probability and statistics
- Experience building probabilistic models
- Experience developing software with Python and C++
- Experience using Monte Carlo simulation
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills
Responsibilities
- Write Python code to estimate risk using Bayesian probabilistic models
- Write C++ code to search high-dimensional failure-mode spaces
- Run simulations and analyze risk-informed results
- Develop methods to achieve high safety levels in autonomous vehicles
- Perform hazard analysis, risk assessments, and fault tree analysis
- Integrate safety throughout development
- Develop and execute validation strategies
- Improve safety processes and tools
