About the Role
You will act as a senior technical authority for synthetic aperture radar, radar signal processing, and remote sensing. You will assess sensors and data, lead technical strategy and trade studies, guide algorithm development, mentor technical staff, advise customers, support proposals, and resolve high-impact SAR challenges.
Requirements
- Advanced degree or equivalent demonstrated expertise in a relevant technical field
- Typically 25+ years of radar, SAR, signal processing, remote sensing, or related experience
- Recognized expertise in SAR technology, signal processing, exploitation, or phenomenology
- Deep understanding of SAR system operation, image formation, calibration, and signatures
- Experience with advanced radar sensor systems and algorithm development
- Experience advising senior government, defense, intelligence, or commercial stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance
- U.S. person status or eligibility for required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical authority for SAR, radar signal processing, and remote sensing
- Evaluate sensor capabilities, collection geometries, waveforms, and system characteristics
- Diagnose SAR data quality, calibration, image formation, and exploitation challenges
- Set technical vision and research priorities for SAR processing and analytics
- Lead technical trade studies and feasibility assessments
- Provide technical direction, reviews, and mentorship
- Advise customers and communicate SAR concepts and tradeoffs
- Lead technical contributions to proposals, white papers, research, and publications
- Advise leadership on SAR technical risks and strategic decisions
