About the Role
You will develop lead-identification and optimization strategies using SAR analysis and hypothesis-driven design. You will apply modern organic synthesis, integrate computational and bioassay data, collaborate with scientific functions, develop predictive models with AI/ML colleagues, and communicate project updates.
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry focused on synthetic organic chemistry
- 15+ years of experience with a BS, 12+ years with an MS, or 8+ years with a PhD in small-molecule drug discovery
- Track record advancing programs from leads to advanced candidates
- Experience optimizing lead compounds for potency, selectivity, ADME, and PK
- Expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry
- Knowledge of target protein degradation, molecular glues, and PROTACs
- Experience working with computational chemists in drug-target design
Responsibilities
- Devise strategies to identify and optimize lead molecules for potency, selectivity, and ADME properties
- Execute modern organic chemistry transformations and synthetic methods
- Apply multivariant SAR analysis and hypothesis-driven design
- Collaborate with biology, pharmacology, computational chemistry, and ADME functions
- Leverage automated synthesis and high-throughput experimentation capabilities
- Work with AI/ML scientists to develop predictive models for molecular design
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders
- Foster scientific excellence, innovation, and teamwork within the Chemistry research group
