About the Role
You will own synthesis methodology, timing convergence, implementation readiness, and RTL quality. You will develop constraints and signoff criteria, optimize timing and QoR, partner with backend engineers on physical-aware optimization, and lead synthesis reviews with external implementation partners.
Requirements
- 12+ years of ASIC implementation experience
- Multiple successful tapeouts
- Synthesis methodology and flow development expertise
- Timing closure expertise for complex multi-million-gate designs
- Cadence Genus and/or Synopsys Design Compiler expertise
- SDC and MMMC expertise
- RTL design and implementation-friendly coding knowledge
- Experience with 5nm and below process nodes
- Tcl and Python scripting skills
- Debugging and root-cause analysis skills
Responsibilities
- Define and own scalable synthesis methodology and flows
- Establish synthesis deliverable signoff criteria
- Perform hands-on synthesis using Cadence Genus and Synopsys Design Compiler
- Develop and maintain SDC constraints, clock definitions, paths, and MMMC environments
- Drive synthesis QoR improvements
- Own logical timing closure across frequency, area, power, congestion, and wireability
- Analyze timing bottlenecks and develop timing budgets
- Drive physical-aware synthesis, retiming, register balancing, pipeline optimization, and logic restructuring
- Partner with architecture, RTL, verification, physical design, DFT, IP, and backend teams
- Review QoR, timing, area reports, and constraint methodology with external partners
- Apply AI to timing analysis, QoR regression, constraint generation, and engineering automation
