About the Role
You will lead the development of system-management interfaces used to manage system state. You will guide architecture and implementation decisions, translate technical direction into plans, lead complex initiatives, mentor engineers, improve reliability and operability, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, and datacenter operations. You will contribute across design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and production readiness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant subject
- Substantial experience designing, building, and operating Linux-based infrastructure or distributed systems
- Technical leadership experience on complex, multi-team engineering initiatives
- Experience influencing architecture and technical decisions across team boundaries
- Experience translating technical goals into plans, milestones, risks, and priorities
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and programming in Go
- Experience using Bash and Python for systems automation
- Deep practical experience with Kubernetes, container runtimes, and production workloads
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, source control, and CI/CD technologies including Terraform or OpenTofu, Ansible, GitLab, GitHub Actions, and Git
- Experience with hardware-management interfaces such as Redfish or IPMI
- Strong Linux systems engineering, troubleshooting, and operational debugging skills
- Ability to mentor engineers through technical mentoring, design reviews, and coaching
- Clear communication and stakeholder-alignment skills
Responsibilities
- Convert System Management direction into technical plans, priorities, and deliverables
- Lead architecture and design decisions and document technical trade-offs
- Lead complex System Management initiatives and coordinate dependencies, risks, and decisions
- Provide technical direction and mentoring across system management, hardware lifecycle management, deployment automation, and production operations
- Own technical outcomes across design, implementation, testing, integration, deployment, observability, and production readiness
- Identify and improve systemic reliability, scalability, and operability issues
- Collaborate across hardware, firmware, platform software, and datacenter operations to resolve system-level issues
- Improve CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, automated testing, release safety, and operational practices
- Resolve complex technical escalations and create reusable tooling and automation
