About the Role
You will bring large-scale GPU cluster networks from physical installation through configuration, validation, and production acceptance. You will optimize high-speed network fabrics, troubleshoot complex production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and develop automation, monitoring standards, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, networking, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of hands-on data center or high-performance networking experience
- Experience deploying and operating large-scale low-latency networks for AI, HPC, cloud, or distributed systems
- Expertise in Ethernet or InfiniBand fabrics, RDMA/RoCE, routing, switching, and multi-tier data center network architectures
- Experience with 200/400/800G networking, NICs, optical interconnects, performance testing, and network telemetry
- Proficiency with Linux networking and network automation using Python, Ansible, or equivalent tooling
- Ability to travel to data centers
- Ability to support critical incidents or maintenance outside regular business hours
Responsibilities
- Lead network commissioning for AI clusters
- Configure high-speed Ethernet and InfiniBand compute fabrics
- Validate network topology, routing, redundancy, addressing, cabling, and interoperability
- Implement network automation, configuration management, and fabric deployment procedures
- Execute fabric qualification and acceptance testing
- Tune RDMA transport, congestion control, QoS, PFC, ECN, routing, and switch and NIC settings
- Analyze distributed workload results to improve multi-node performance
- Own networking acceptance evidence, defect remediation, configuration sign-off, and readiness recommendations
- Provide Tier 3 escalation for production networking incidents
- Lead root-cause analysis and vendor engineering escalations
- Support network upgrades, expansions, failover testing, and configuration changes
- Develop diagnostic automation, monitoring standards, runbooks, and operational handoffs
- Report on fabric health, acceptance results, defects, risks, and improvements
