About the Role
The Fuels Technician operates and maintains mobile equipment, material handling systems, and ash conditioning equipment; performs fuel yard, building, grounds, and equipment maintenance; supplies plant fuel; supports environmental compliance; and completes required fuel training.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to obtain MSHA certification; company training provided.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and perform fueling and basic maintenance.
- Ability to use hand, electric, pneumatic, and rigging tools.
- Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, and routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to complete required physical examination and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mobile equipment including bulldozers, front-end loaders, excavators, tractors, water trucks, and utility trucks.
- Maintain site roads, grounds, buildings, fuel yard, and processing equipment.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Supply the plant with required fuel.
- Maintain housekeeping standards.
- Control dust, erosion, and sedimentation and support water treatment.
- Complete fuel training within one year.
- Communicate site conditions and performance to supervisors and suggest site improvements.
