About the Role

You will design, implement, and deploy scalable AI and deep-learning models for power-grid systems. You will build HPC workflows for distributed training, inference, and data management; write Linux scripts for SLURM and PBS; publish research; present findings; and collaborate across technical disciplines.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science or an AI-related field completed within the last 5 years
  • Expertise in scalable deep learning, distributed training, large-scale inference, and PyTorch
  • Experience with high-performance computing systems and multi-node CPU or GPU workflows
  • Expertise in scalable data management for AI and machine-learning workflows
  • Experience writing SLURM and PBS job-submission scripts
  • Expertise in Linux, bash, Git, Python, and reproducible software environments
  • Expertise in advanced Python software and deep-learning algorithm implementation
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming, scripting languages, and software engineering practices
  • Written and oral communication skills and publication record
  • Completion of all degree requirements before appointment start

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deploy scalable AI and deep-learning models for power-grid systems
  • Develop HPC software workflows for distributed training, inference, data ingestion, and data management
  • Write Linux bash and job-submission scripts for SLURM and PBS environments
  • Develop multi-node GPU and CPU workflows, monitoring, restart, and post-processing pipelines
  • Author peer-reviewed papers, technical reports, and open-source software
  • Present technical work at workshops and conferences
  • Collaborate with computational scientists, computer scientists, electrical engineers, domain scientists, and applied mathematicians
