About the Role
You will design, build, and ship OpenBMC firmware and manageability features for x86 and Arm platforms. You will implement management standards, host communications, hardware interfaces, and power and thermal controls. You will own firmware hardening, secure boot, attestation, vulnerability disclosure, and verification tooling.
Requirements
- OpenBMC or BMC firmware experience on x86 or Arm platforms
- D-Bus and sdbusplus experience
- C, C++, and Python proficiency
- Linux user-space and kernel fundamentals
- Yocto and OpenEmbedded proficiency
- Firmware security mindset
- Knowledge of DMTF specifications and management interfaces
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-193 and SP 800-147/155
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship OpenBMC firmware and manageability features
- Build management-stack capabilities using DMTF and OCP standards
- Implement BMC-to-host communications and thermal, fan, and power management
- Own the BMC security posture, including secure boot, attestation, authenticated updates, and rollback protection
- Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews
- Run coordinated vulnerability disclosure with vendors and the upstream community
- Build verification tooling for static analysis, fuzzing, firmware extraction, and CI gating
