About the Role
You will bring a pragmatic DevOps mindset to help improve the developer experience at Lightning Labs. You'll manage cloud and cluster technologies, operate stateful backend services including databases and Bitcoin/Lightning Network nodes, use observability tooling, harden platform security, and partner with development teams on Helm charts, cloud resources, and the Kubernetes lifecycle.
Requirements
- Strong foundations in Linux, networking, security, cloud, and infrastructure as code
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production
- Experience operating and extending observability tools
- Experience in a systems programming language such as Go, Python, or Rust
- Preferred: GitOps, DevSecOps, and service mesh experience
- Preferred: PostgreSQL and etcd database administration
- Preferred: knowledge of Bitcoin and the Lightning Network
- Preferred: familiarity contributing to open source projects
Responsibilities
- Manage the underlying cloud and cluster technologies that compose the internal platform
- Manage stateful backend services such as databases and Bitcoin/LN nodes
- Utilize, operate, and extend observability tools including logging, monitoring, and tracing
- Improve platform robustness and security using operators and overlay networks
- Advise and assist development teams with Helm charts, cloud resources, and the Kubernetes lifecycle
