About the Role

You will join a growing payroll team and report directly to the Payroll Lead, gaining hands-on training and mentorship while supporting accurate, end-to-end domestic payroll processing and international outsourced payroll exposure. You'll manage fortnightly payroll runs, review time and attendance data, calculate overtime, and oversee commissions and variable allowances. You'll ensure statutory compliance with PAYG and superannuation lodgements, act as the first point of contact for payroll queries from employees and external agencies, and assist with audits, year-end processing, and reporting.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in a hands-on payroll processing role within Australia
  • Solid foundational understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Superannuation Guarantee (SG) rules, PAYG, and Modern Awards
  • Proficient in MS Excel including basic formulas, data sorting, and spreadsheets
  • Experience with major payroll/HRIS systems such as Xero or Employment Hero highly regarded
  • Exceptional data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin, written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Support and process accurate and compliant end-to-end fortnightly payroll while maintaining data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems
  • Review time and attendance data and calculate overtime
  • Oversee administration and calculation of commissions and variable allowances applying correct Modern Award interpretations
  • Complete PAYG and superannuation lodgements and manual payroll adjustments in alignment with ATO and statutory legislation
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and external agencies such as the ATO, super funds, and Centrelink
  • Assist in overseeing outsourced payroll operations for global regions
  • Assist the Payroll Lead in preparing documentation and pulling reports for internal and external payroll audits
  • Participate in annual payroll year-end processing and support ongoing payroll projects
  • Prepare basic monthly and ad-hoc payroll reports for management and handle routine payroll administrative tasks
