About the Role
Unlimit is seeking a Payment Methods Specialist or Senior Payment Methods Specialist to manage alternative payment methods across global markets. The role combines product, technology, operations, payment expertise, technical collaboration, performance analysis, partner management, go-to-market execution, and regulatory alignment.
Requirements
- 5+ years in payments, fintech, product delivery, or a related field; 6+ years for Senior Specialist.
- Understanding of payment flows, settlement, notification systems, and API integrations.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams and contributing to technical solution design.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Highly organized and collaborative, with experience managing multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills for translating between business needs and technical specifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving technology environment.
- AI-driven mindset and curiosity about emerging AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of alternative payment methods from research and planning through integration, launch, monitoring, and optimization.
- Ensure payment method reliability and efficiency against business and market requirements.
- Manage relationships with external payment partners and internal technical teams.
- Define requirements, functional flows, and acceptance criteria for payment integrations.
- Collaborate with Engineering on technical solutions, integrations, releases, and operational demands.
- Analyze payment KPIs including success rate, conversion, latency, declines, and transaction errors.
- Investigate payment issues, identify root causes, and drive platform improvements using monitoring and data insights.
- Evaluate new payment opportunities based on market fit, merchant demand, and technical complexity.
- Develop documentation, flow diagrams, and guides for cross-functional teams.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on payment method value propositions and go-to-market launches.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to ensure regulatory and licensing adherence.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, operationally sound, and aligned with platform standards.
