About the Role

This full-time onsite role supports the reliable, safe, and environmentally compliant operation of a power facility. The technician operates and repairs mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, turbine, generator, compressor, fire suppression, and water treatment systems with minimal guidance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&IDs.
• Knowledge of mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to repair, replace, and dismantle defective parts.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical equipment problems and perform water chemistry analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to train personnel and write operating procedures.
• Ability to operate welding and cutting equipment, drill presses, pipe threading machines, and grinders.
• Ability to walk, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift and be available for call-ins and work overload.
• Authorization to work in the USA.
• Participation in a drug and alcohol program.
• Associate degree, two to four years of related power plant experience or training, heavy equipment experience, and Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain power generating facility equipment, including HRSGs, air compressors, turbines, generators, and fire suppression systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair pumps, valves, fans, gearboxes, turbine components, and other defective equipment.
• Inspect plant systems and record meter, gauge, temperature, vibration, fluid-level, and water-chemistry data.
• Analyze and adjust water chemistry in HRSG, boiler, and cooling tower systems.
• Open and close circuit breakers and install piping and conduit for plant upgrades.
• Use the CMMS, assist with O&M procedures, and write reports or work requests.
• Follow safety, environmental, facility, and permit requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and assist with root cause analysis of failures.
• Perform housekeeping and painting projects in plant areas and the control room.
