About the Role

You will lead the design and implementation of semantic solutions that organize and unify information. You will research state of the art approaches and toolkits, propose methodologies for text image graph and chart analysis, and design metadata taxonomies ontologies and knowledge graphs. You will implement semantic layer solutions using taxonomy and ontology management tools and graph databases, interpret existing semantic schemas, deliver solution architectures and governance plans, and ensure quality interoperability and reusability of data and knowledge assets following FAIR Data Principles and Semantic Web standards.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years designing and managing taxonomies thesauri and or ontologies
  • Expertise in knowledge engineering knowledge representation and ontology development
  • Experience in the use of generative AI and LLMs in complex scientific domains
  • Expertise in the FAIR Data Principles and the Semantic Web technology stack (SCHACL RDF RDF* OWL etc.)
  • Experience using semantic standards like RDF OWL SKOS and SPARQL
  • Programming experience such as Java C/C++ Python
  • Experience or knowledge in data modeling NLP pattern recognition and knowledge graphs
  • Experience in natural language processing tools and platforms such as spaCy and computational linguistics considered an advantage
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms AWS Azure GCP and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Understanding of web technologies HTML CSS JavaScript
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Information Science Knowledge Management Library Science Data Science or related field

Responsibilities

  • Research state of the art approaches and toolkits for semantic and ontology problems

  • Lead strategy design and development of enterprise semantic solutions including metadata taxonomies ontologies and knowledge graphs
  • Lead implementation of semantic layer solutions such as taxonomy and ontology management tools and graph databases
  • Interpret existing semantic schemas and deliver solution architectures and governance plans
  • Ensure quality interoperability and reusability of data and knowledge assets following FAIR Data Principles and Semantic Web standards
