About the Role
You will design, validate, and deploy high-speed copper and optical interconnects for AI clusters. You will evaluate emerging technologies, work with vendors, translate workload needs into topology requirements, simulate fabric performance, investigate production failures, and build monitoring and qualification automation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating high-speed copper and optical interconnects
- Master's or PhD degree in electrical engineering, photonics, or physics
- Knowledge of PAM4 SerDes performance, equalization, jitter, and crosstalk
- Understanding of FEC, retimers, TIAs, and drivers
- Knowledge of optical link budget analysis and optical performance metrics
- Expertise in transceiver components, failure modes, and characterization
- Knowledge of thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity constraints
- Knowledge of silicon photonics design, yield improvement, and reliability testing
- Familiarity with co-packaged optics technologies
- Familiarity with supply chains, manufacturers, ODMs, and CMs
Responsibilities
- Design, validate, and productize high-speed copper and optical connectivity for AI clusters
- Evaluate and onboard new interconnect products
- Investigate LPO, LRO, co-packaged, and near-packaged interconnect technologies
- Explore emerging interconnect modalities
- Work with vendors to influence product roadmaps and delivery
- Translate workload communication patterns into interconnect topology requirements
- Perform end-to-end fabric performance simulation
- Drive failure analysis and corrective actions for production interconnect issues
- Contribute to monitoring, telemetry, diagnostics, remediation, and qualification automation
- Track relevant industry standards and emerging technologies
