About the Role
You will own the company's compliance program from first principles. You will design and maintain AML/CFT policies and KYB processes, translate US, EU and other legislation into operational rules, set transaction monitoring and escalation protocols, manage regulatory relationships and reporting (including SARs), prepare the business for licensing, and work with legal to interpret evolving stablecoin and crypto-asset regulations.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of AML/CFT legislation (US BSA/FinCEN, EU AMLDs, MiCA implications)
- Experience building compliance programs
- Systematic risk thinking
- Comfort with regulatory ambiguity and making judgment calls
- Prior experience in fintech, payments, or crypto preferred
- Strong written communication
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the AML/CFT compliance framework
- Create KYB policies that balance fraud prevention with onboarding speed
- Establish transaction monitoring rules and escalation protocols
- Own regulatory relationships and reporting obligations including SARs
- Design policies compatible with a multi-PSP architecture
- Prepare the company for MTL licensing and evolving regulatory frameworks
- Interpret new stablecoin and crypto-asset regulations with legal
