About the Role
You will be implementing front office and back office trading systems that are used by institutional investors around the world on a daily basis to trade, invest and exchange cryptocurrency assets. You will participate in task breakdown, estimation, design, implementation and maintenance of trading systems, and use your knowledge of the trading system domain to influence the technical direction of the Brokerage team. You will dive deep into complex, ambiguous problems and formulate elegant and practical solutions. You will review other developers' code to ensure consistency, reduce errors and share context across the team. You will drive iterative system improvement by implementing robust instrumentation and metric collection. You will break down large projects into smaller tasks, estimate time and scope accurately, and analyze trade-offs to recommend priorities. You will collaborate cross-functionally, share knowledge across the team, and mentor and guide multiple engineers within your area of specialization.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience with Go
- Experience with modern software development practices including automated unit, integration and end to end testing, cloud development, database design and interaction using MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Git
- Knowledge of financial asset trading systems and topics such as OEMS, FIX protocol, market data, low latency architectures, matching engines, FX trading, OTC, derivatives, position/risk management, cryptocurrency trading, trading back office systems
- Real world experience building financial trading systems
- Passion for good software engineering design and implementation practices (TDD, SOLID, refactoring)
- Commitment to code quality and test infrastructure
- Bonus: GraphQL and gRPC API design and implementation experience
- Bonus: background in the finance industry
- Bonus: experience with digital asset (cryptocurrency) trading
