About the Role
You will own billing-platform abstractions and develop systems for subscriptions, invoicing, usage metering, credit budgets, and payment settlement. You will lead features from definition through launch, operate reliable systems, build support tooling, and partner with finance, data science, growth, security, support, and go-to-market stakeholders.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building or scaling billing, payments, subscription, or monetization systems
- Knowledge of payment processors, subscriptions, invoicing, disputes, refunds, and webhooks
- Python backend engineering skills
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Product judgment
- Cross-functional collaboration with finance, support, or growth stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own billing and monetization systems
- Lead billing features from problem definition through launch
- Build and operate subscription, invoicing, and usage-based billing systems
- Improve reliability through SLOs, monitoring, and alerting
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain accurate and compliant billing data
- Build internal tooling for billing issue diagnosis and resolution
