About the Role
You will perform standardized mechanical-properties testing of composite materials, including load-frame analysis, calorimetry, and burn-rate testing. You will document results in LIMS, compile deliverables, maintain equipment, follow ISO practices, and uphold laboratory safety procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
- Attention to detail
- Data recording and organizational skills
- Ability to follow established procedures
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain state and federal explosives licenses
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and state and federal background checks
Responsibilities
- Execute established mechanical-properties test methods
- Perform in-process and acceptance testing
- Record test data, observations, and results in LIMS
- Compile test results into tables and charts
- Perform routine equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Follow ISO-compliant data and documentation practices
- Maintain laboratory safety and organization
