About the Role

You will own assigned mechanical hardware for robotic spacecraft systems from concept design through CAD, drawings, prototyping, fabrication support, assembly, integration, verification testing, and manufacturing support. You will collaborate on interfaces, maintain early builds, investigate failures, and use test findings to improve designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• 1+ years of relevant electro-mechanical system or mechanism design, analysis, and manufacturing-support experience
• Mechanical CAD proficiency
• Experience creating mechanical drawings and maintaining drawing packages
• Hands-on mechanical assembly, integration, and testing ability
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work weekends as needed
• Willingness to spend up to 50% of work time at test sites
• U.S. citizenship
• Current authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Design and iterate mechanical hardware for robotic spacecraft, satellite, and propulsion systems
• Define practical requirements, interfaces, and assembly configurations with electrical and software engineers
• Assemble, integrate, and maintain prototypes and early builds
• Plan and execute operational, reliability, and quality testing
• Use test results to improve design, buildability, and serviceability
