About the Role
You will design durable 3D CAD parts that meet load and industrial-design requirements. You will manage the robot buck, coordinate with industrial designers and suppliers, design injection-molded Class A parts, create GD&T drawings, inspect first articles, build test stands, and support development platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience working with industrial design departments
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a similar field
- Expertise using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes, specifically injection molding and die cutting
- Experience designing and building prototypes
- Ability to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes
Responsibilities
- Design 3D CAD parts that satisfy load, form-factor, and durability requirements
- Work with industrial designers to execute the system vision and form
- Own and maintain the industrial design robot buck and communicate with suppliers
- Design injection-molded plastic parts with Class A surfaces
- Generate accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5
- Inspect first articles, build test stands, and support part development on robot platforms
