About the Role

You will design welding fixtures, tooling, robotic cell layouts, and electromechanical assemblies. You will create manufacturing-ready drawings and BOMs, validate structures using FEA, integrate pneumatic and electrical subsystems, prototype designs, and resolve mechanical issues during deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent
  • 2–6+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation or robotic systems
  • Experience with fixture design, robotic cell layouts, and production automation hardware
  • SolidWorks and FEA proficiency
  • Ability to produce manufacturing-ready engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems, electrical interfaces, and mechanical integration points
  • Knowledge of machine safety for mechanical design
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems and engineering change support

Responsibilities

  • Design welding fixtures, tooling, and robotic cell layouts for automated robotic welding systems
  • Create build-to-print part and assembly drawings, mechanical BOMs, and layouts in SolidWorks
  • Perform structural validation using SolidWorks Simulation
  • Design and integrate pneumatic and low-voltage electrical subsystems within mechanical assemblies
  • Build and validate designs through hands-on prototyping
  • Assist with machine shop work and assembly
  • Support builds, kitting, and installations and resolve mechanical deployment issues
  • Implement engineering change requests based on build and field feedback
  • Partner to reduce BOM cost, improve availability, and standardize parts
  • Capture lessons learned and incorporate improvements into standards, libraries, and future designs

Benefits

  • Daily free lunch
  • Flexible PTO
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 6 weeks of fully paid parental leave plus an additional 6–8 weeks for birthing parents
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Empower
