About the Role

You will help implement and operate mechanical systems in data centers. You will develop models and layouts, prepare equipment packages, review designs and submittals, coordinate system integration, monitor construction, visit sites, analyze testing, troubleshoot commissioning issues, and support vendors and contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical systems design and construction
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Proficiency in reading construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with testing and commissioning procedures
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of building codes and industry standards
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is a plus
  • Data center-specific mechanical systems experience is preferred
  • PE license or EIT is preferred
  • Modular construction experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop water and energy consumption models
  • Develop equipment layouts and flow diagrams for central utility plants
  • Prepare equipment bid packages and specifications
  • Review equipment submittals and select mechanical equipment
  • Review mechanical design drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with architects and electrical engineers
  • Provide technical recommendations for design modifications
  • Monitor installation of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Conduct site visits and resolve construction conflicts
  • Ensure safety and quality control compliance
  • Analyze test data and identify optimization opportunities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems during commissioning
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Review shop drawings
  • Answer RFIs
