About the Role
You will develop, manufacture, and characterize high-temperature materials for sustainable fuel reactor systems. You will design and execute R&D projects, use advanced characterization techniques, build reactor components, operate high-temperature furnaces, support compatibility experiments, and assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and SOP generation.
Requirements
- Be a B.S. or M.S. candidate in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Work comfortably in a wet lab environment and learn experimental and documentation techniques.
- Follow laboratory protocols and instructions accurately.
- Demonstrate attention to detail in experimental design, execution, and documentation.
- Prepare lab notebooks, data analyses, technical reports, and formal presentations.
- Have experience with documentation and reporting.
- Have wet lab experience, furnace operation, chemical synthesis, slurry formulation, or coating experience (preferred).
- Work in a fast-paced environment and solve technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute advanced R&D projects for materials development.
- Use advanced characterization techniques to understand materials and degradation mechanisms.
- Work with external partners on characterization techniques.
- Build reactor components using repeatable and scalable manufacturing techniques.
- Operate high-temperature furnace equipment to produce materials.
- Support materials compatibility experiments, selection, and characterization.
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and SOP generation.
