About the Role

You will produce precision spacecraft parts and assemblies by operating CNC and manual machine tools, welding and fabricating components, building harnesses, soldering assemblies, and inspecting hardware. You will interpret engineering documentation, support integration and testing, maintain shop equipment, and improve manufacturability with mechanical engineers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with CNC machining or welding and fabrication
• Experience with soldering or wire harness and cable assembly
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and wiring diagrams
• Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Ability to work physically at the Ottawa facility
• Ability to safely lift and handle materials and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining equipment to produce precision parts
• Program or edit CNC toolpaths and select tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Weld, cut, bend, and fabricate sheet-metal and structural components
• Build wire harnesses and cable assemblies
• Perform precision soldering to space workmanship standards
• Read engineering drawings, GD&T, wiring diagrams, and specifications
• Operate manual machine tools and general shop equipment
• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools
• Support mechanical assembly, integration, and test hardware builds
• Maintain machines and tools and keep the shop safe, clean, and organized
• Work with mechanical engineers to improve manufacturability and turnaround
