About the Role
You will work as an experienced systems software engineer versed in applied cryptography, peer-to-peer networks, distributed systems, open source software, and cryptocurrency protocols. You will work on lnd and neutrino, conduct cryptocurrency research, contribute to BOLT specifications, and help create smart contract applications on Bitcoin.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background with solid programming skills
- Experience in Go desired; C or C++ relevant
- Thorough understanding of distributed systems and peer-to-peer networking
- Solid engineering practices, including testing and documentation
- Experience with Bitcoin, cryptography, and/or financial software
- Prior contributions to crypto protocols and open source collaboration preferred
- Quick learner geared toward implementation
- Eager to develop new skills and take ownership of projects
Responsibilities
- Design and implement core Lightning Network protocols and algorithms
- Contribute to mission-critical peer-to-peer cryptocurrency daemons written in Go
- Collaborate on research and design of future Lightning Network iterations
- Participate in issue triage and code review of open source contributions
- Communicate with the wider community and industry about the software and technology
