About the Role
You will own mobile performance across iOS and Android, defining architecture, standards, tooling, and measurable targets for startup time, rendering, runtime efficiency, memory management, network efficiency, and background processing. You will optimize critical paths, design caching and synchronization strategies, build performance observability systems, and establish benchmarks that keep mobile performance consistently high.
Requirements
- Deep experience in mobile performance engineering at significant scale across iOS, Android, or both
- Expertise in rendering, memory management, network optimization, background processing, and app startup
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin
- Understanding of mobile runtimes, rendering systems, and operating system scheduling
- Experience with real user monitoring, frame rate profiling, and observability systems
- Measurement-driven performance profiling and instrumentation experience
- Technical leadership experience setting direction and influencing engineering teams
- Familiarity with real-time data applications, live market feeds, or mobile trading products
- Background in fintech or data-intensive consumer mobile products
Responsibilities
- Own startup time, rendering performance, and runtime efficiency across the mobile platform
- Define architecture, standards, and tooling for mobile performance
- Optimize app startup, screen transitions, real-time data rendering, and network request handling across iOS and Android
- Design data fetching, caching, and synchronization architectures
- Build real user monitoring, crash reporting, frame rate tracking, and synthetic testing systems
- Establish performance benchmarks, budgets, and standards across mobile engineering
