About the Role
You will own electrical architecture from the medium-voltage bus to GPU racks, including topology, redundancy, standards, protection, grounding, and arc-flash boundaries. You will coordinate compute and cooling electrical requirements, lead EPC and OEM design reviews, approve drawings and testing, and align data center systems with transmission, distribution, and battery storage plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering discipline
- 10+ years of electrical power design experience in high-power, high-voltage, or mission-critical systems
- Experience owning medium-voltage distribution architecture at 10 kV to 35 kV
- Ability to perform hands-on work in varied and hazardous environments
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to provide 24/7 on-call emergency support
- Willingness to work on-site in Memphis, Tennessee
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Valid driver's license
Responsibilities
- Own electrical architecture from the medium-voltage bus to GPU racks
- Define and validate redundancy schemes for electrical contingencies
- Establish electrical design standards, vendor requirements, grounding, and arc-flash boundaries
- Coordinate rack density, step-load behavior, and power-capping requirements
- Coordinate cooling-system electrical loads and hall demand
- Lead design reviews and approve vendor drawings and factory acceptance test procedures
- Direct Data Center engineering functions as roles are filled
- Align hall design with transmission, distribution, and battery storage models
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NESC, and IEEE standards
