About the Role
You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on buses, automotive equipment, and shop equipment. You'll direct highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment service, repair and replace subsystems on heavy, medium, and light duty coaches, collaborate with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of mechanic experience
- Possess knowledge of the design, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and repair of systems and subsystems of SAM coaches and related shop equipment
- Able to work on their feet eight hours per day, lift 100 pounds, and carry parts, equipment, and supplies
- Class AA and ASE Certified
- Hold a valid SD driver's license
- Able to obtain a CDL permit
- Able to pass a pre-employment physical
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, including trade or vocational school
- Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
Responsibilities
- Direct highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment service
- Repair and/or replace any subsystem associated with heavy, medium, and/or light duty SAM coaches and automotive equipment
- Work with other maintenance workers, drivers, and transportation supervisors
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
