About the Role

You will assist in managing pre-litigation disputes and formal litigation matters, coordinating with external counsel and tracking case progress and budgets. You will conduct legal research and draft memos on user disputes, regulatory inquiries and potential claims. You will draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, technology, SaaS, marketing, partnership and NDA documents. You will help maintain the contract management system and support senior counsel on complex negotiations. You will monitor evolving laws and regulations affecting cryptocurrency exchanges, fintech and financial services, and prepare compliance guidance for new products and marketing initiatives. You will also support licensing efforts, corporate governance, board and shareholder materials, and data privacy compliance under frameworks such as the DPA, GDPR and CCPA.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in the Philippines.
  • 1–3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably at a reputable law firm or in-house at a technology, financial services or fintech company.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of contract law, corporate law and litigation procedures.
  • Exposure to, or strong interest in, financial regulations, cryptocurrency, blockchain technology and data privacy laws.
  • Genuine interest in and understanding of technology, cryptocurrency and blockchain.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and provide practical, risk-based legal advice.
  • Proactive, agile self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in drafting, research and process management.
  • Collaborative spirit with a willingness to learn and support colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing pre-litigation disputes and formal litigation matters.
  • Coordinate with external counsel, manage document discovery, draft hold notices, and track case progress and budgets.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memos on user disputes, regulatory inquiries and potential claims.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal processes to mitigate litigation risk.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor and supplier agreements, technology and SaaS licenses, marketing and partnership agreements, NDAs and basic service terms for users.
  • Support senior counsel on complex negotiations, such as banking, data and strategic partnerships.
  • Help maintain and organize the company's contract management system.
  • Monitor and research evolving laws and regulations affecting cryptocurrency exchanges, fintech and financial services in key jurisdictions.
  • Assist in preparing legal advisories and compliance guidance for business teams on new products, features and marketing initiatives.
  • Support the company's licensing and registration efforts globally.
  • Provide support on corporate governance matters for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Assist in preparing materials for board and shareholder meetings, including resolutions, minutes and presentations.
  • Help maintain corporate records, statutory books and corporate registrations.
  • Support the company's data privacy compliance program under regulations such as the DPA, GDPR and CCPA.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating privacy policies, cookie notices and data processing agreements.
  • Help conduct privacy impact assessments for new projects and products.
